McDonald Independent Pre-Owned Subaru Sales and Service Testimonials
To whom it may concern,
Soon after I started looking for a car, I found myself in quite the predicament. I knew exactly what I wanted--a used Subaru Impreza, 5-doors, manual transmission, under 80,000 miles, for a reasonable price--but I was having a very hard time finding any dealership near my home on the Western Slope that carried such a car. Most had Imprezas that were automatic or sedans or brand new, but
none had exactly what I was looking for. So I started to look online. While perusing Carfax one day, I found an Independent Subaru shop in Littleton, CO, that had several cars that fit my list of requirements. Soon I was on the phone with Bill Bucheleres, a gentleman who has been dealing with used Subarus for decades. Even though I was 250 miles away, he addressed me with honesty and the utmost respect. He went above and beyond what I expected of him, pulling over while heading back from the mountains to talk to me about my purchase and always responding to calls or emails within hours. I wasn't able to make it out to see my car before purchasing it, as I was car-less at the time, so a friend who lives on the Front Range went to look at the cars and test drive them for me. He told me after that the cars all ran well, they looked very clean and well-cared for, and that Bill was an enjoyable person to talk to (which was something I already knew from our numerous phone conversations). In the end, we did all of our paperwork via fax and email, and Bill even found someone who was willing to work with me on getting the car over to my side of the mountains. My experience was absolutely phenomenal, but also a little bit of a leap of faith. Bill proved all of my doubts wrong and delivered on every promise he made. Seven months and 16,000 miles later, I'm still very happy with my car and the experience I had working with Bill and the McDonald Independent Subaru Stored. I would buy another car from them in a heartbeat and recommend any friend interested in buying a used Subaru, regardless of where they live in Colorado. Thank you Bill for all your hard work!

We had been looking for a specific Outback model with high integrity for a few months without much luck. When we walked into McDonald Subaru, Bill was sincere and helpful. He listed to our situation and had one vehicle coming in that matched our needs. Rather than push us to purchase something from the lot, he recommended we come back in a couple days to see the car. Needless to say, it lined up with what we were looking for and the purchase process was painless. If you're in the market for a pre owned Subaru, I recommend a visit to McDonald. We all know buying a car can be stressful. Bill's personality and low key style made it a positive experience.

At McDonald Subaru. He was very helpful, the price was fair, and the experience was very pleasant. If your looking for a Subaru I would strongly recommend Seeing Bill at McDonald Subaru!!!
and it was worth it. The sales went VERY smoothly and he is very courteous. Definitely blew all other dealers outta water no question. THANK YOU! -Staci, Nov. 14, 2011 from Bill in 2009 and really enjoyed and appreciated the quality of product and quality of service. Bill helped me out for two years following with any questions I had on my car, and assisted me with any follow-up service. I highly recommend McDonald Subaru, a great value for a pre-owned vehicle.

Subaru shop and used them today for service on my Legacy wagon. Their service was efficient and reasonably priced. Bill was particuarly helpful in finding a part for another Subaru vehicle that we own. I really appreciate his extra effort. Thank you!! -Kathy, Nov. 12, 2011
I love my new Subaru! Bill was great to work with, honest and fair. Everything went smoothly. I highly recommend buying from Bill at McDonald Subaru! -Katie, Nov. 11, 2011
change for the first time since purchasing our used subaru in the spring. We were given a free oil change at time of purchase, but since we live on the other side of town, had not been able to use it until now. I went to the Volvo dealer not realizing I was at the wrong location!! Tyler was very helpful and redirected me to the correct location next door. They did the oil change and found that we needed a new drive belt. The cost was very reasonable and it didn't take but a few minutes longer to do! I was highly impressed and will make the trip across town again!! Thank you!
Subaru Store after talking to my friend who had recently bought a car from a McDonald Independent Subaru. Bill Bucheleres was very honest, friendly, and fair. I got exactly what I was looking for when I went there. I got the right car, at the right price, from the right Used Subaru store! I am very pleased with my purchase, and will continue to go there for maintenance and all my other needs. -Shanele, Nov. 5, 2011 my daughter's car, we came across McDonald's Used Subaru Store after searching on the internet, other dealerships and newspaper with no luck and much frustration. To our surprise we were able to find a car with the help of Bill Bucheleres, Sales Manager within our price range along with all the major service work done on the car. To ensure that the car was what Bill said it was, we had the car inspected by a Master Mechanic and he verified that the car was in excellent condition for the price. Bill was extremely helpful in fulfilling our needs plus provided the financing (Jonathan) at a lower rate and other special requests we asked for in closing the deal. Bill helped us to make this situation a positive experience. Knowing Bill and McDonald Independent Subaru has given us an excellent resource in any car needs our family or friends may have in the future. Check them out for yourself. -Helen , Nov. 4, 2011
I had spent several days car shopping before stumbling across McDonald Independent Subaru. Immediately, I recognized that this place was different than all of the Subaru dealerships I had been to. Bill was helpful but not pushy. He only showed me cars that suited my wants/needs and there was no pressure as I test drove the car. The whole process was painless! Bill prices his cars well to begin with, so there was no headache of going back and forth to reach a fair price. I bought my 2008 Subaru Impreza that evening. What really made the difference has been the high level of customer service I experienced AFTER buying the car. It speaks volumes about Bill and his operation. I will also be taking my Subaru to McDonald for oil changes and maintenance as it seems to be the best-priced service in town! Highly recommend.
To Whom It May Concern: I hated dealing with car dealers after buying a Honda Accord and Nissan Pathfinder at two dealers so long ago I do not have dealer names or locations. In the interim years I purchased two new cars (one Pathfinder and one Subaru) through Automotive Avenues (Lakewood, Colorado) with great success until recently. I could not get the salesman there to search for a used Subaru Outback for me ... ("Do you have to have a manual transmission?")....and on and on. Thus, I took to the Internet myself and found exactly what I wanted: 2008, under 50K miles, yes, a manual transmission, and white. Little did I realize that I was going to be dealing with McDonald Automotive Group - specifically, Mr. Bill Bucheleres! I'm writing to tell you that the buying process was painless thanks to Mr. Bucheleres who was a pleasure to work with. If I even need a used Subaru again, I'll start with Bill and look elsewhere only as a last resort. The finance gentleman we worked with was a gem as well, but unfortunately I'm on a Jefferson County Library computer and his name is at my residence where there is no computer. I'm an accountant, not good with words, but I hope this conveys how happy one senior citizen was in dealing with your business in large part due to Mr. Bucheleres. Patricia M.

Type: Contact Us Comments: Last Saturday I went to several of the big box Subaru dealerships. Nice guys and I know they are working to make a living. That said, it was so great to come into the -quot-house-quot- and work with Bill on purchasing an SUV I am thrilled with. So I bought an 07 Tribeca and the whole experience was outstanding. Bill is a great guy to work with low key, no pressure and beleives in the product. I hope to have this ride for a long time and Bill, I love the new tires! Date: 2011-05-04 16:25:19
The best experience I've had purchasing a vehicle. Our knowledgable salesman truly cared about selling us the product that was right for us, not the most money for the store The open and upfront way of doing business was refreshing and and made us feel comfortable which is not usually the case when buying a car. It's nice to see a salesman with integrity and I will be recommending this Independent Subaru store to friends who are looking to purchase. Thanks again, Neil
Bill Bucheleres is by far the best salesmen I have EVER worked with. This was also the best experience I have ever had purchasing a car. I bought a 2008 Subaru Tribeca from Bill just a few days ago and I couldnt be more pleased! Not only did he work with me on the price, but he went above and beyond after the sale to get a minor scratch repaired at NO COST to me!! He truly is "one in a million" when it comes to car salesmen...he actually cares about the customer and he wants nothing more than to make them happy. He has been in this business for 25 years and knows his stuff! Anyone...and I mean ANYONE who is reading this right now needs to go to McDonald Subaru on Brodway and talk to Bill...he has a great selection of fantastic subaru's! Thanks again Bill for everything!
To Mr. McDonald and anyone wanting to buy a Pre-Owned Subaru with confidence:
I was just starting to think about trading in my Buick for a Subaru because my previous Subaru had been such a great car. I don't like shopping for cars and I don't like huge car lots with all those eager salespeople. I saw the sign on McDonald Automotive specializing in Pre-Owned Subarus on a small lot on Broadway and I immediately drove in. I looked over inventory and saw two sedans that I liked. Bill Bucheleres came out, low key, friendly, informative, and I liked his style. I went home and looked up McDonald Automotive Group Subaru and read the testimonials on Bill. I was impressed and felt like he was a person I could do business with. I went back and test drove both cars and knew right away I wanted the 2009 Legacy, but I wanted to think about my options. Should I finance with McDonald Automotive or the bank and should I consider other places and other cars? What about my trade-in for the Buick? Bill was very patient, answered all my questions, and addressed my issues candidly. Once I thought it over, I decided this was the car, this was the Independent Subaru store, and this was the salesperson for me. I bought the car and I love it. Bill doesn't sell you a car, he helps you buy a car, there is a difference.

Originally, we started our search for a used car in Dec. 2009. However, in order to get a used car, we needed to trade-in our 2003 Audi. Since we still owed quite a bit on the Audi, we were told we would not qualify unless a lot of money was put down in order to pay down that loan. Since we didn't have the funds or resources to do that, we quit looking for used cars and continued driving the Audi. As the months went forward, the Audi continued to be a money pit for us. We knew we had to get out from under it and our search for used cars began, again. We went from dealership to dealership, weekend after weekend, looking and talking to dealers. We were repeatedly told two things: 1) We were upside down with the Audi and we would need to come up with some money for a down, or 2) They'd work with us and give us a call in a few days. Needless to say, we never heard back from anyone. We hadn't given much thought to a Subaru, but as we drove past the Pre-owned McDonald Subaru, we decided to stop and see what they had to offer. Bill was so pleasant to talk to and we ended up test driving a 2007 Tribeca. Afterward, we discussed our situation with Bill and he was willing to try and work something out with us. He said he'd contact us, as well. We felt like Bill was an honest guy and would give us a call back; however, we didn't have high expectations. The next day, Bill called us with good news. He was able to work out a deal that worked for us. Bill was patient and took the time to treat us as individuals based on our circumstances, and not just like another number. We picked up the Tribeca on Aug. 2, 2010, and were delighted to say good-bye to the Audi! During the first month, there were some very minor issues that we brought to Bill's attention. He was able to resolve those issues quickly and at NO COST to us! We have had the Subaru for almost two months, now, and we're loving it! We are not only happy with the choice we made, but so thankful Bill was honest and showed sincere concern for our situation. He was a pleasure to work with and we'll certainly refer friends and family to him. We, too, plan to talk to Bill about any other future needs we may have. You should be proud to have Bill representing McDonald Automotive Group. He is professional, knowledgable, and easy to communicate with.
Dear Chance, Phil & Bill: I just want to reiterate how pleased and overjoyed I have been with your quality of service and attention to detail in my experience as a Subaru customer over the past 6 months. This morning's service experience with Chance further affirmed why you guys are stellar, both in products and customer care. Also I went ahead and gave Chance my updated contact information as I moved apartments last month. Many thanks!

Dear Mr. McDonald, My name is Michelle C and I am writing to you about Bill Bucheleres. I recently purchased a preowned Subaru from him. Now, You might be saying to yourself, "Oh that's nice, but that's what I hired him for so that's to be expected." Well, I am writing to inform you that Bill is much more than I expected and not your ordinary, everyday car salesmen. Let me elaborate. I live in South Carolina, purchased this car from the internet, from a used car salesmen half way across the country and am a woman who knows where the gas tank is and little else about cars. Obviously, one could say that I am either stupid or naive given the reputation of used car salesmen and the current abdication of basic morals in society. Regarding myself, I would like to think that such is not the case, which is the reason why I feel compelled to write this letter. Bill Bucheleres gained my confidence! Through numerous phone conversations and email correspondence he patiently answered all my questions. He showed kindness in response to my fear of buying a car I had never seen. He was honest in not taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. He was patient in giving me time to make a decision and giving me advice about finding a car transport company. He was fair in the price he quoted me and much to my relief, when the car arrived it was every thing Bill had promised it would be! (It even had an engine...couldn't resist.) I don't know who loved it more, my son or I. You are fortunate to have Bill as an employee. I was fortunate and blessed in being able to buy an automobile from someone who upholds the virtues of Justice and Charity. Rare to find today and even rarer in your industry. Thanks Bill and God bless you. With much appreciation and gratitude,

To Whom It May Concern:
Buying a car can be a daunting task. Buying one after moving to a new city and from a new dealership or salesperson is even more daunting. I truly feel fortunate to have purchased my ’09 Outback from Bill.
From the very beginning Bill was professional, respectful, and honest. Even more, Bill knows Subaru. So many other salespeople simply read off the car stats and figures. Bill knows every detail about Subaru’s - above and beyond the car’s window sticker.
Lastly, throughout the financing process, Bill kept his word, outlined each expense without surprises, and earned our trust while cutting a great deal. We will go back to Bill and McDonald for all future Subaru purchases.
Sincerely,
Colin (Subaru Outback ’09), 01/22/10
To whom it may concern: I had a most wonderful experience yesterday, Jan. 14, 2010. I was in the market to trade my current Subaru, and purchase another. My son Paul and I were warmly greeted by Phil Bayer, and shortly thereafter Bill Bucheleres assisted in my transaction. I would like to say that I have NEVER experienced such a warm and genuine concern for a customers wants and needs in purchasing of an automobile. (2005 Subaru Outback XT AWD). It was actually a very pleasant experience, and because of that I will gladly refer friends, family and clients onto your Independent Subaru store. I am also commited to exceptional service, and faithfully return to businesses who extend such professional service. My 'hat is off to you' for providing a business who knows that going above and beyond is a win-win for all involved, including those who work for you as it shows in your employees positive and friendly attitudes. I will look forward to returning for all my car servicing, and for future automobile purchases. Wishing you all a prosperous year in 2010! Sincerely, Sue

Mr McDonald,
I wanted to write and let you know of how pleased I was with my experience at your Used Subaru store this week. Our beloved 2001 XC70 had 145K of miles on it and I wanted to shop for a replacement. I called volvo certified and talked to Mike Hanis (sp?). He was extremely helpful and listened to my concerns. Within a few minutes Les Gum called and said he'd have three cars ready for me when I arrived that morning (12/31) - a volvo XC70, subaru outback and mazda cx9. When I arrived I met Mike and Les and test drove the cars. I quickly learned that Les was not a match for me and continued to talk with Mike and ultimately Bill Bucheleres about the purchase of the subaru. I can't say enough about Mike and Bill - their professionalism, knowledge and patience as we closed the deal and I received my car. Bill answered my many questions about Subaru, demo'd the car for me and was extremely helpful. Mike explained the ins and outs of the our trade and educated me on the differences in the vehicles we were looking at. I am a long term customer of Rickenbaugh and have had our volvos serviced there for years. We will be servicing our outback - and possibly our volvo XC90 with your organization. In addition, we will look to you when it's time to purchase another car. I wanted to make sure you knew of how pleased we were - and to say thank you to you and your team! Happy New Year!
THANK YOU BILL AND THE MCDONALD AUTO GROUP!!

Hey Bill! Just wanted to thank you so much for being such a great help with the purchase of my Subaru Impreza! I really did feel very comfortable asking you questions about the cars I was looking at, which was especially important for me being a first time car owner. Being that you are a Subaru owner, I always knew I was getting an answer from someone incredibly knowledgeable who truly appreciates and has experienced first-hand, the unique qualities of Subaru. Thank you for all your help during this whole process! I am loving my car, and could not be happier with my purchase! All the best! Kelly B. 09/24/2009
My wife and I have been Subaru fans for many years and when some guy crushed our '99 Outback we had to find a new one. We shopped the usual listings and dealers hoping to find a used one when we happened across McDonald Auto Group and Bill Bucheleres. The inventory and the condition of the cars spoke for themselves. We bought a used Legacy at a fair market price compared to what we saw in the online listings. As it turned out, the car had a flaw that was missed in the inspection and prep but was quickly remedied by the store. Because of the quality of the Subaru we don't need to buy one that often but the next time we do we'll know where to go.

Good Morning Mr. McDonald,
I'd like to thank the McDonald Independent Subaru and Bill Bucheleres for a great car buying experience Friday, August 28th. We stopped by the new Subaru branch, Bill was so helpful and pleasant to work with we stayed and drove several cars, even bought one! It was by far the best car shopping and buying experience we have ever encountered. Bill was extremely knowledgeable, fair on prices and fun to work with.
We definitely appreciated the ease and comfort of the situation. I hope this Subaru project is successful, Bill was wonderful and it would be much deserved. Thanks again, we've never actually written an auto sales store to thank them for the wonderful experience, but this is much deserved!
- Jessica S and Geoff P 08/31/2009
Dear Bill,
Just wanted to thank you for the work you put in to finding our Pre Owned Subaru.
You made it very easy for my wife and I. For that we are thankful! Good luck. See you in a few hundred thousand miles for our next Subaru.
Sincerely,
M. S. , Boulder, CO , July 2009
Just bought a 2007 Impreza from them yesterday. Easiest. Car. Buying. Experience. Ever. Bill Bucheleres, the sales guy, is top notch. I'd communicated with him a few times by email and phone before coming in so already felt pretty comfortable with him. Drove the car and liked it. Drove another and decided my first pick was the right choice. Walked in with my credit approval from my credit union and he took a look at it and said "We can get you a better rate." (They did.) Yes, the credit manager attempts to up-sell you on service warranties and all the usual, but it's not a hard sell. My sweetie bought a new Hyundai from them last year and it was also a very clean deal. Never thought I'd give 5 stars for a car sales store, but here you go. It's definitely worth the drive.
- Linda G., Denver, CO
Had a great experience here. Bill was very helpful and was not the typical salesman that I have been dealing with in most other places. He was straightforward and did not pressure me at all. I spoke with the mechanic there as well who was very helpful. I ended up having the car inspected by an independent mechanic who spent 2 hrs with it and said he couldn't find a single thing wrong with the car as Bill and his mechanic assured me. Would definitely do business here again, especially with Bill.
- Scott R., Lawndale, CA
Great place to take your subaru. Very affordable! Called around for a 15k mile maintenance and this place had the best price. Plus they give you a car wash :-)
- David M., Aurora, CO
I got a coupon for these guys in the mail a few weeks ago for a $17.95 oil change. I have a new Subaru Impreza and since the dealer charges $34, that was a no brainer, so I decided to give them a try. What I found was great customer service! Phil was really friendly, not like some service people are on the phone so that was a good start. I made my appt for the very next day and brought my car in. They worked on it right away, did the oil change and checks and all that.
During my wait, they had a very nice waiting room with a couch, reading chair, magazines, flat screen with remote (I wasn't at the mercy of whatever THEY wanted to have on) and fresh coffee. A far cry from Grease Monkey's plastic chairs in the middle of their dirty check in area.
When the car was done, Phil asked me if I had time for a car wash. I did and so he took my car down the block to get washed for free! Afterward, I was invited to sit down and he went over the checks they did and determined no problems and I came away with an oil change and car wash for $20 (taxes and stuff were the extra). Phil told me they will beat the dealer's prices on any services and maintenance. He also told me they do work on other Japanese cars, not just Subarus.
I have to say, it seems like you don't get this kind of service anymore in the auto repair industry that this was a very nice breath of fresh air and I WILL go back in another 3000 miles. I just hope they weren't buttering me up so they could rip me off in the future ;) but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt til they do!
- Marianne Y., Denver, CO
This place is great. The service manager Phil is friendly, sincere, and won't rip you off. Both experiences my car issues have completed and resolved. Their tech Matt is very knows suburu's well. Glad I found someone to work on my impreza for as long as I owe it!
- Mitch J., Denver, CO
Are you looking to avoid buying a new Subaru that looses thousands of dollars in value just by driving it off the lot? Do you hate car shopping as much as I do? Want a buy a car with no hassles, no fast-talk and no games? You can find this and more by checking out Bill Bucheleres at McDonald Independent Subaru on Broadway. I had been avoiding buying a new car because my past experiences were horrible - salesmen pressuring to "make a sale", playing the "numbers" games, telling you what you think you want to hear, only to have it change as the deal gets close to closing. This is my first time buying a car in CO. I went to several dealerships in the South Metro area, only to find that car dealers are the same across the country...until I happened on a small Independent Subaru store in Littleton. called McDonald Independent Subaru. I was skeptical at first, expecting more of the "same old, same old" ....but this was a different experience - in a very positive way! No pressure, no sales talk, just Bill taking the time to find out what you want and what you need - then making suggestions and providing comparisons to help you find a car that meets your needs. Then he gives you the keys and lets you go for a test drive (or two, or three) either with him along or on your own, so that you can get a feel for the car without a salesperson "breathing down your neck". Once I decided to go ahead with the sale, there were no "last minute surprises". Bill gave me a fair trade-in on my car without having to "nickel and dime" the deal and haggle over the final price of the car. Bill and Shane took care of everything, making sure that the one thousand and one forms required to complete the sale were completed right there and then. They answered all my questions regarding financing, title transfer, and registration of my new vehicle. Bill and McDonald Independent Subaru made car-buying a pleasure - something I never thought I would write in a review! Go check them out and see for yourself......and "enjoy" buying a new car!

I just wanted to thank you for everything in making my recent Subaru purchase with you effortless and worry free one. How simple and easy it was to come up to your sales lot and pick out a car, test drive it, pay for it, get the paperwork for it and drive it home. I have never had any car sale go so easily and smoothly. But...it is all because of your high caliber and knowledge when it comes to being a Subaru owner and store that made it top notch. I mean that sincerely. The car has been fantastic in the snows we have had here in Palmer Lake this past week. Again, I thank you for getting me into a new Subaru after being in one for 17years! We call her "Granny" now and she still is in the driveway waiting for snow melt to happen. If you EVER need a reference call me-you are our one and only Independent Subaru store from now on!

Mr. Mcdonald I took my truck for some service at your independent Subaru shop on 12/7/2010. I was met by a very pleasant young lady by the of Cassie, she was helpful and knowledgable. She out what I needed they got to work on my truck. The tech that worked on my truck name is Shannon, he is fast and excellent. Very friendly. The got my work quickly and and right. I will refer people to come to your Volvo and Subaru service department in the future.
